Yemeni army commander survives assassination attempt

A Yemeni army commander survived on Friday an assassination attempt after unidentified gunmen targeted his motorcade in Hadhramaut governorate.
The attackers, believed to be associated with al Qaeda group, detonated a bomb while the the convoy of Commander of the First Military Zone Abdul Rahman al Halili was passing in the area.
A firefight erupted between Yemeni soldiers and the attackers, leaving a number of casualties on both sides.
This the third time Halili has survived an attempt on his life.
