
At least two British tourists were killed and 20 injured when a tourist train derailed in northern Indian city Kalka on Saturday, said police.
The train, which was a chartered tourist train bound for the northern Himalayan resort of Shimla, derailed soon after leaving the Kalka railway station in an uphill climb.
The tourist train is highly popular among British tourists as it was build more than 100 years ago by the British. It is called toy train due to its small coaches and narrow tracks.
The injured have been rushed to hospitals in the nearby city of Chandigarh, said local TV reports.
The incident took place on the same day as the derailment of a passenger train in the southern state of Karnataka, in which at least two passengers were killed.
Police have launched inquiry into the causes for the derailment incidents.
