The number of people confirmed as rescued after a container ship sank off China's southeast coast early Sunday morning now stands at 19, according to a Ministry of Transport rescue team. Heavy storms engulfed the ship with 22 people on board around 3 a.m. Sunday near Pingtan, Fujian province, killing one of the group. The body has been retrieved and is going through identity checks. As of 3 p.m., the rescue operation continues in search of the remaining two people, rescuers said. The Fujian maritime authority has set up an investigation team to try to establish the cause of the accident.
