At least 25 people died when a landslide hit a mining village before dawn Thursday in the southern Philippines. A local health official told Xinhua that by 9 a.m. Thursday, 25 were dead, 15 others were injured, and many were reportedly missing. Soldiers and rescuers have already been sent to the site of landslide to search for the missing, according to Carmilo Ugayo, Commander of the 71st Infantry Battalion. The disaster happened in the gold-rich community of Panganason, Kingking village, in Pantukan town of Mindanao's Compostela Valley Province.
