Six militants have been killed following a drone attack in eastern Afghanistan's province of Kunar, police said on Saturday.
"Acting on a tip-off, an unmanned plane of the coalition forces conducted an airstrike in Chogan locality of Shegal district late on Friday, killing six Taliban insurgents," the provincial police chief, Abdul Habib Sayyedkhel, told Xinhua.
No civilian was harmed as a result of the attack in the province, some 180 km east of Afghan capital, the police chief added.
The Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since mid April when the militant group launched its so-called annual spring offensive in different places of the militancy-plagued country which had claimed hundreds of lives including militants, security personnel and civilians.
