At least 12 policemen were killed and many others injured in a bomb attack on a police minibus by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in eastern Turkey, Dogan News Agency reported Tuesday.
The incident took place in eastern Turkish province of Igdir when the bus was transporting a group of policemen to the Dilucu border gate which connects Turkey to Azerbaijan, the report said.
Clashes between the Turkish army and the PKK have been intensified since July, claiming dozens of the lives of security personnel.
A statement released by the Turkish army said on Monday that 16 of its soldiers were killed and six injured in clashes with the PKK on Sunday in Daglica district in southeastern province of Hakkari.
