Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is in Cuba for cancer surgery. Chavez, 57, was greeted by President Raul Castro when his plane landed in Havana late Friday, El Universal of Caracas reported, citing Cuban media. Chavez was accompanied by his brother, Adam, and two members of his Cabinet. The operation is expected to be carried out Monday or Tuesday. In June 2011, doctors in Havana removed a malignant tumor from Chavez's abdomen. A new tumor was discovered during a recent checkup. Chavez has been president since 1999. He plans to run for another six-year term in October.
