Expanded ties with the United States is a priority for Russia, President Dmitry Medvedev said during a credentialing ceremony for the new U.S. envoy to Russia. U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul presented his letter of credence Wednesday, RIA Novosti reported. "Ties with the United States will remain one of the priorities in Russia's foreign policy," Medvedev said during the ceremony at the Kremlin. "They have special significance for both the advancement of global security and for world stability." McFaul, considered an expert on Russia and the developer of the so-called "reset policy," was among seven ambassadors to Russia who handed in their credentials to Medvedev.
