
Mexican Foreign Minister Claudia Ruiz Massieu left Cairo on Thursday along with six nationals who were injured in the tragic incident in Al Wahat area which left eight Mexican tourists dead and six injured on Sunday.
The injured arrived at Cairo Airport via ambulances escorted by police vehicles, security sources at the airport said.
During her visit, Massieu held meetings with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
Sisi offered condolences to the Mexican minister over the death of Mexican tourists who were mistakenly killed in a shelling on their convoy in Wahat area.
The two sides discussed steps taken by the Egyptian authorities to deal with the repercussions of the incident and provide the injured with needed medical care.
