The Philippine military said on Wednesday that it has not monitored any plot to kill former President now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, discounting the supposed plan disclosed by the Arroyo camp. "The Armed Forces of the Philippines didn't receive any reports about the threat to the life of the former President and we have not monitored any threat to the life of the former President," Armed Forces Spokesman Col. Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos said in a briefing. Burgos is alluding to the supposed Oplan Put the Little Girl to Sleep which was disclosed earlier by Arroyo's spokesman, Elena Bautista-Horn. Horn claimed the plot involves poisoning and contamination of Arroyo's medicines. "If we monitor (threats), we're not going for anyone to request (for additional security). We're the ones going to volunteer our services to provide security augmentation to the Philippine National Police (PNP)," Burgos said. The PNP is the primary agency in charge of Arroyo's security. Arroyo is under arrest for an electoral sabotage case but is confined at the St. Luke's Hospital in Taguig for an injury. She is due to be transferred to the presidential suite at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center not later than Friday.
