Spain’s king hurts his eye accidentally

Spain’s royal palace says King Juan Carlos has bruised his eye and nose after he walked into a door. The palace said the incident happened on Tuesday at the Zarzuela Palace royal residence. Television and newspaper images showed the monarch with bruise marks to the eye area and nose at a reception for ambassadors later in the day. The accident did not cause him to alter his agenda. There were no further details as to how the accident happened. Juan Carlos, 73 years old, has had several physical problems in recent years. In 2010 he underwent surgery to remove a benign tumor from the lung. This year he had surgery carried out on his right knee and Achilles tendon.
