The Badminton World Federation (BWF) said Monday that it had launched an investigation into a brawl involved two Thai shuttlers during the Canada Open. The men's doubles' final on Sunday between Bodin Issara/Pakkawat Vilailak and their Thai compatriots Maneepong Jongjit/Nipitphon Puangpuapech ended up in a fistfight. Bodin Issara lashed out against Maneepong Jongjit during the games after a spat with his former playing partner. The two reached quarterfinals at the 2012 London Olympics. Bodin Issara's pair was disqualified after a black card was issued. BWF said in a statement that "the events surrounding the conclusion of this match will be thoroughly investigated." "The governing body has procedures in place to deal with such situations and this matter will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee, " it added. From: XINHUa
