After scoring a MotoGP top five in the wet at Le Mans, rookie Stefan Brad is approaching this weekend's Catalan round with renewed confidence. Although the young German has no prior experience of Catalunya on an RC213V, he loves the layout and won last year's Moto2 race from pole position on his way to the 600cc title. “I know Montmelò circuit very well. I started my career with the Spanish Championship and I raced there many times so far,” he said. “This is another important track for me. I like the layout with fast sectors and not so many hard breaking areas. “The straight is pretty long so for a MotoGP bike is not that small like Le Mans or Estoril. “Right now I am looking forward to every race because our beginning of the season is pretty positive and every week end there's something to learn about the bike following the surface layouts. “Last year in Barcelona I gained the pole position and the victory in Moto2 class. We'll see what we can do riding the RC213V.” Bradl is seventh in the world championship and equal on points with fellow satellite RCV rider Alvaro Bautista (Gresini).
