Spain have been given a warm welcome by their Polish hosts after arriving at their Euro 2012 base in Gniewino. The defending champions touched down in Gdansk at 19:30CET on Tuesday and immediately embarked on the hour-long journey to the small village of approximately 1,500 inhabitants, which will be their home for at least a fortnight. Vicente Del Bosque's troops were greeted by hundreds of locals before being serenaded by a 50-strong children's choir. Striker Fernando Llorente was also the grateful recipient of a giant pie from the local welcoming committee. Spain's players and coaches then retired for the evening at the Mystral hotel ahead of the commencement of their preparations for their tournament opener in Gdansk against Italy on June 10. The reigning world and European champions also have Croatia and Republic of Ireland to contend with in Group C.
