San Diego Padres pitcher Cory Luebke said Monday he will miss the rest of the season after opting to undergo elbow surgery. The Padres left-hander told reporters the reconstructive surgery, to be performed this week, will repair the ulnar collateral ligament of his throwing elbow. The former 2007 first-round draft pick has been on the 15-day disabled list since May 2. Luebke compiled a 3-1 record with a 2.61 ERA over five starts this season before going on the DL. He boasts a 10-12 record with a 3.25 ERA in 55 games during his three-year career with the Padres. Pitcher Matt Palmer joined the team from Class AAA Tucson to take Luebke's roster spot.
