Zamalek decided Thursday that they will release their striker Ahmed Hossam "Mido" from the first team squad during the summer transfer window. "The management thanks Mido for his services with the team throughout the last two seasons he spent with the team," read a statement on the Zamalek's official website Thursday. Zamalek management took the action in a step to retain the services former coach Hassan Shehata who stepped down from his post early last week. Meanwhile, the Whites' board will meet Shahata Saturday in a bid to convince him to stay with the team. Zamalek management announced Wednesday that striker Mido and forward Mahmoud Abdel Razek "Shikabala" would keep their places in the team’s squad despite the resignation of coach Shehata. Shehata recommended that Mido be dropped having failed to make an impression during the last season. From ahram
