Pizza Hut said it has offered an Indiana manager his job back after he was fired for refusing to open the restaurant on Thanksgiving. Tony Rohr, who has worked at the franchise for more than 10 years, was told to write a resignation letter when he said he would not work, CNN reported. But he refused to quit and wrote a letter arguing that the company should close for the holiday. "I said why can't we be the company that stands up and says we care about your employees and you can have the day off," Rohr told CNN Wednesday. He was then fired, he said, but the local franchise claimed that Rohr resigned. A statement from the corporate office said the restaurant agreed to offer Rohr his job back, CNN said. "We fully respect an employee's right to not work on a holiday, which is why the vast majority of Pizza Huts in America are closed on Thanksgiving," the statement reads. "As a result, we strongly recommended that the local franchisee reinstate the store manager and they have agreed." Rohr has not said whether he would accept the offer, CNN reported.
