Fast food giant McDonald's is poised to launch its "Mighty Wings" menu item on a national scale, a franchise restaurant industry Web site said Monday. The Web site BurgerBusiness.com reported McDonald's would go national Sept. 9 with the menu item that has been the subject of marketing tests for several months. The Chicago Tribune reported the news first appeared on the Facebook page of a McDonald's franchise. The initial notice, which was taken down, included a few other menu-change tidbits. The posting said Pralines, the Creme McFlurry, Pumpkin Spice Latte and a Southwest Premium McWrap would also be put on the menu. The Facebook posting later reaffirmed the "Mighty Wings" debut, but did not mention the other items, the Tribune reported. "Mighty Wings" were tested in Atlanta and Chicago. They are expected to cost $2.99 and be available with nine sauces.
