Toys R Us said on Friday it will remove from its shelves toy guns and other kids' toys in France that could confuse police in light of the Paris attacks.
"Toys R Us management asked its store directors in France to remove 23 toys that looked like guns and weapons," confirmed the global toy giant.
"This decision was taken in light of the Paris attacks," the group explained. "It was taken because these toys could be misinterpreted as real weapons and could be a source of confusion for police forces."
Toys R Us stressed that the toys that have been removed represent only a small fraction of its range, and that other toys, like light sabres and water guns, will still be sold in the 48 stores it has in France.
The company did not say for how long the toys would be off the shelves.
The death toll in the Paris attacks rose to 130 on Friday when one of the injured died in hospital.
