
FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday rose by 0.38 percent, or 23.60 points, to 6,284.52 points.
Share price of Standard Chartered increased by 9.76 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips.
Paddy Power Betfair, BP, Lloyds Banking Group and Berkeley Group Holdings increased by 4.66 percent, 4.32 percent, 3.57 percent and 3.19 percent respectively.
AstraZeneca led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 2.08 percent, following by Glencore (1.94 percent), Inmarsat (1.80 percent), Anglo American (1.75 percent) and RELX (1.29 percent).
