Chinese court jails 10 for illegal gold trading platform

Ten people have been sentenced to prison for running an illegal online gold trading platform, a court in China's Hunan Province said on Saturday. The Kaifu District Court in the city of Changsha said the defendants' prison time ranges from two years to 14 years. The illegal gold trading platform had 39,000 registered accounts, the court said. According to the court's statement, the defendants profited by charging transaction fees, and the platform had received transaction deposits of nearly 2.4 billion yuan (390 million U.S dollars).
