Cypress, Calif., importer Vans Inc. is recalling about 2,400 AV Edict hooded jackets for boys due to risk of strangulation, U.S. regulators said Thursday. A drawstring around a jacket hood is a violation of Consumer Product Safety Commission guidelines, the agency said. The jackets under recall were sold in S, M, L and XL sizes. They were made in India out of black cotton or black canvas. "Vans" is printed on the tab above the left front pocket and "AV" is embroidered in black beneath the lower right pocket and on the jacket's snaps. The garmets were sold nationwide from September 2012 through September 2013 for about $90. Consumers were advised to take the jackets from children and return them to the retailer for a full refund or a repair. Consumers can call 800-817-0618 for information.
