The Damascus Fire Department extinguished a fire which broke out in al-Basha refrigeration facility for preserving food which is located near al-Adiliye town turnpike on the road to Sweida.
A source at the Damascus Police Command told SANA that six fire trucks took part in extinguishing the fire, the cause of which remains unknown so far.
The source said that the fire damaged 36 refrigeration chambers containing tons of fruit and vegetables valued at around SYP 8 billion.
