
Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has commended the pioneering cultural role of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, saying that this great institution is a centre of cultural and urban enlightenment in Abu Dhabi and the region. These remarks were made yesterday, when Sheikh Khalid visited the Mosque on the sidelines of his visit to the country. He and his accompanying delegation were received by Yousuf Al Obaidly, director of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Sheikh Khalid said that the Sheikh Zayed Mosque has a great role in boosting the values of tolerance, brotherhood and dialogue among various cultures, through its diversified activities and outstanding initiatives. This comes in the light of the pioneering role of the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to boost coexistence values among religions, in addition to abiding to the teachings of Islam in order to spread peace around the world. Sheikh Khalid and his accompanying delegation also visited the tomb of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which is located next door to the Mosque.
