Significant Ptolemaic discovery revealed in Aswan

A gate believed to lead to a Ptolemaic-era compartment or a great temple was unearthed in an old house in central Aswan on Sunday.
Carved symbols showed that the gate or compartment could be the entrance of a temple dedicated to one of the kings of the Ptolemaic period, Egypt's Greek-speaking ruling dynasty, where offerings were made, director of antiquities in Aswan Nasr Salama said.
The area in Aswan's Al-Shouna district is further being unearthed to reveal more about the temple, he said, adding that all details will be announced after the mission completes its task.
