Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit received Sunday Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Garcia Margallo to exchange viewpoints on ways to enhance Arab-Spanish cooperation.
The two sides also tackled the latest developments in the Arab region along with the future of the Arab-European dialogue.
They also discussed the Palestinian cause along with the situation in Syria, Libya, Iraq and Yemen, said AL spokesman Mahmoud Afifi.
Abul Gheit also expounded ongoing efforts to reactivate the role of the pan-Arab body in dealing with Arab issues, added the spokesman.
Spain attaches great importance to boosting its cooperation with the Arab countries and the pan-Arab body as well, said the Spanish foreign minister.
He affirmed Spain's stance in supporting the Arab causes, topped by the Palestinian issue.
He also reviewed the ongoing contacts between his country, Egypt and New Zealand in order to formulate a new resolution in the UNSC on the humanitarian conditions in Syria.
