
Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa welcomed US Secretary of State John Kerry at the start of an official visit to the kingdom, BNA reported on Thursday.
During his visit, Kerry is scheduled to meet King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, as well as Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and first Deputy Prime Minister.
Shaikh Khalid expressed pride in Kerry's visit to Bahrain as reflective of the high level of historical relations between the two friendly countries and indicative of their constant keenness to develop and diversify areas of bilateral cooperation to meet common aspirations and mutual interests and reflect positively on the security, stability and development of the region.
On the sideline of his visit to Bahrain, Kerry will take part in the joint ministerial meeting with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministers of foreign affairs.
