
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held on Friday a meeting with his Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz in Vienna.
The meeting tackled means of boosting bilateral cooperation in all fields, especially in the economic domain, Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
He added that the two top diplomats discussed also the latest political and economic developments in Egypt and efforts exerted by Cairo to handle urgent issues, notably terrorism.
Shoukry praised steps taken by Austria to ease travel warnings to Egypt.
Speaking about the Syrian crisis, Shoukry said Egypt is keen on delivering aid supplies to civilians in Syria and reaching a political settlement to the Syrian crisis.
Kurz, for his part, lauded the role played by Egypt to put an end to the illegal immigration crisis.
Over 600 Austrian companies seek to pump investments into Egypt in the coming period, Kurz added.
