Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met Tuesday with President of the African Export-Import Bank Benedict Oramah and discussed the role played by Afreximbank in supporting and increasing inter-African trade.
The meeting took up programs of the bank to support Egyptian exports to Africa, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
One such program is worth 500 million dollars, Abu Zeid noted.
Shoukry and Oramah also discussed efforts to organize exhibitions of Egyptian companies in African countries, the spokesman further said.
They also tackled the funding of petrochemical projects and supporting Egyptian construction companies operating in Africa, Abu Zeid added.
Oramah said his bank is acting to support the Egyptian industry and offer financial facilitation to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), the spokesman said.
