Environment minister, Cairo governor probe upgrading waste collection system

Cairo Governor Atef Abdel Hamid conferred on Monday with Minister of Environment Khaled Fahmy on means of bolstering cooperation over upgrading the waste collection system in the capital.
The two officials probed the best scenarios for waste management following the expiry of contracts with the companies assigned with management of the capital's waste.
They agreed on forming a joint committee to oversee the work of companies that will be tasked with the waste management in the coming phase. They also agreed on providing the waste collection vehicles with GPS systems to check on their operation according to schedule
