
Iraqi President Fuad Masum met here today with Brett McGurk, Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL at the U.S. Department of State.
During the meeting they discussed relations between Iraq and the United States in addition to the latest developments of the security and political situation in Iraq.
Speaker of the Iraqi House of Representatives Salim Al-Jabouri also met with McGurk to discuss development of the war against ISIS in addition to developments on the political level and the comprehensive reforms the parliament and the government were indeavouring to achieve.
In another development tens of civilians were injured in explosions in various areas of Baghdad.
A security source said in a statement today that an explosive device went off near commercial stores in northeastern Baghdad killing one person and injuring six others.
A car bomb also exploded near a restaurant in the new Baghdad neighbourhood killing two persons and injuring nine others.
