
Jordanian King Abdullah II on Monday met Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud, who is also the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense.
They and discussed with him Jordanian-Saudi relations and a number of regional issues, according to a statement issued following the meeting and carried by Jordanian Petra news agency.
The meeting dealt with ways to cement ties between the two countries in a host of domains and the latest developments in the region and the world. King Abdullah and Prince Muhammad emphasized the importance of maintaining constant political consultation between the two countries on regional issues and crises.
In this context, they stressed that regional crises should be resolved through political solutions and that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the region's countries should be maintained. They said interference in the internal affairs of regional countries is rejected.
They stressed that the two countries will continue to enhance bilateral cooperation in the security domain and in the fight against terrorism and extremism, renewing condemnation of terrorist acts, which hit a number of countries. King Abdullah and Prince Muhammad underlined the importance of participation in counter-terror efforts and alliances.
The two sides agreed on developing military cooperation between the two countries to promote regional security and stability, enhancing cooperation in the energy field, uranium exploration and producing electricity from nuclear power, cementing trade ties, and increasing the two-way trade exchange.
