
Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Tarek al Mulla received here on Wednesday Chairman of Edison Oil Company Marc Benayoun.
The meeting took up means of promoting joint cooperation along with investment opportunities available in Egypt in the energy sector.
Also, the two sides reviewed the projects that are carried out by the international consortium in Egypt.
In press statements, Mulla asserted that major international investment companies are interested in operating in the Egyptian oil sector.
The talks took up a joint cooperation agreement for upgrading the developing the second phase of Abu Keir gas field at a total investment cost of around 220 million dollars, he added.
Meanwhile, the visiting official reviewed at the meeting his company's activities in Egypt including exploration operations in the Western Desert and the Mediterranean along with the Gulf of Suez and the Nile Delta.
