Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal received Monday visiting President of the French Senate Gérard Larcher and his accompanying delegation.
The Egyptian speaker praised the distinguished level of parliamentary and political ties between Cairo and Paris, saying that Egypt is satisfied with France’s understanding of the developments in Egypt over the past years.
He reviewed Egypt’s efforts in fighting terrorism, saying that Egypt is playing a pivotal role in facing terrorism on behalf of Europe and the world.
Egypt is handling terrorism not only from a security perspective but a comprehensive one that encompasses the cultural, economic, social and religious aspects, he said.
Egypt seeks to eradicate illegal migration from its roots, something that requires a comprehensive plan in the Mediterranean Sea basin, he said.
Speaking about the situation in Libya, Abdel Aal said Egypt is playing a constructive role in resolving the Libyan crisis based on the country’s stability, security and unity.
