
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received visiting Burundian Foreign Minister Alain Aime Nyamitwe on Tuesday in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
The president expressed Egypt’s appreciation of cooperation between the two countries, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Egypt hopes that stability and security are restored in Burundi and supports the choices of the Burundian people, Sisi said.
For his part, Nyamitwe said his country was keen to promote cooperation with Egypt in all fields and conveyed an appreciation message from the Burundian president for Egypt’s supportive stances for development efforts in Burundi.
The meeting took up developments in Africa and challenges related to terrorism and extremism, the spokesman said.
