
Transport Minister Galal Saeed had a meeting on Monday with the African Union Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, Dr. Elham Ibrahim, on means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the various transport sectors.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the AU Commission's role in setting up plans for infrastructure development in the transport and energy fields in Africa till 2040.
For her part, the AU official said that the plans focused on the development of rail, road and maritime transport in Africa.
The minister, for his part, stressed the importance of cooperation in road and rail transport among the African countries, a matter that will facilitate trade exchange.
