Tunisian Defense Minister Farhat Horchani discussed in a meeting with Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the German Parliament Rodrich Kisfatar ways of fostering bilateral cooperation in the military field and the regional security situation.
Also, they touched on the phenomenon of illegal migration and means to combat it.
In a statement, Horchani said that Tunisia appreciates the support offered by Germany to uproot terrorism and strengthen borders' control, which in turn helps the North African country to face security challenges and bolster security in the region and Europe.
Tunisia hails international efforts exerted to provide security in Libya and maintain its stability, stressing the fight against terrorism requires a comprehensive development process comprising all economic, society and cultural dimensions.
For his part, Kisfatar underlined that his country pays great attention to cementing the regional security situation, especially in the Mediterranean region and works on pushing forward military cooperation between Germany and Tunisia.
