
Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently took home 3 awards for its Information Technology achievements: "Technology Innovation of the Year."
The awards were received at the Aviation Business Awards 2016 (the leading awards programmes for the Middle East aerospace industry), "Hospitality and Tourism Deployment of the Year" at the seventh annual Computer News Middle East (CNME) ICT Achievement Awards (organized by CPI Media Group, the region’s leading IT publisher) and "Best Airline in Technology - Middle East" at the Global Enterprise Connect (GEC) Awards 2016 (one of the region's biggest celebrations of IT excellence).
The awards were accepted by Dr. Jassim Haji, Gulf Air Director Information Technology, on behalf of the airline.
Commenting on the wins, Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer Maher Salman Al Musallam said:

Gulf Air has received numerous accolades for its IT achievements in the past, totaling 11 prestigious awards, a remarkable accomplishment and honour that reflects the airline’s expertise and capabilities. Most recently, the airline won the Best IT Security Project Award during the Security Advisor Middle East event. In 2015, Gulf Air became the first airline in the world to be certified with Information Technology ISO certifications in the five areas of Quality Management, Environmental Management, Service Management, Information Security Management and Energy Management Systems. The airline also won Computer News Middle East’s CIO 100 Awards for the fourth consecutive year, becoming the first organization and first airline in the Middle East to do so.
Gulf Air currently operates flights to 40 cities in 23 countries spanning three continents.
