
At least 15 Taliban militants were killed and 16 others were injured during mop-up operations by Afghan national security forces.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said at least 3 Taliban militants were also arrested during the operations conducted by Afghan National Police (ANP), Afghan National Army and Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) forces, Khaama Press reported.
A statement released by MoI said the operations were conducted in Kandahar, Kunar, Laghman, Zabul, Uruzgan, Ghazni and Paktia provinces.
Various types of weapons and ammunition were also confiscated by Afghan national security forces during the operations, MoI said.
Afghan security forces confiscated 16 Improvised explosive Devices (IEDs) from Ghor, Herat, Logar and Uruzgan provinces, the statement added.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.
