At least seven Afghan civilians have been killed today as a result of an explosion inside a mosque after clashes between NATO-led forces and Taliban militants. A spokesman on behalf of the provincial governor, Shahidullah Shahid, said that the explosion occurred in Saidabad in Wardak province southwest of Kabul and said that Afghan and NATO forces were returning to home base after a security operation which resulted in arresting a Taliban commander when they were ambushed by insurgents who were hiding inside the mosque. Four suspected Taliban-militants have been killed; locals were reportedly seen transporting dead bodies from the mosque when the explosion occurred. Shahid said that the cause of the explosion has not be determined yet.
