Nine people were killed and 10 others injured after a minibus plunged into a ravine in central China's Hubei Province Tuesday morning, the local government said. The accident occurred around 11 a.m. in Guandian Township, Jianshi County of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture when the Hubei-registered minibus carrying 19 people veered off the road and plunged into the 100-meter-deep ravine, said Tan Ming, director of the county's work safety supervision bureau. Seven people died at the scene while one lost life on the way to hospital. Another died at the hospital and the injured are being treated there, Tan said. The investigation into the cause of the accident is under way.
