A strip mall in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, was closed this weekend after part of its roof collapsed under heavy snow, officials said. No one was injured when the roof came down at The House Tap & Eatery, which was unoccupied when it happened shortly before noon Saturday, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported. Officials said the rest of the mall was evacuated as a precaution and the businesses were to remain closed until a structural assessment is completed showing the structure is safe, the CBC said. The House Tap and Eatery's owner, Shawn Evans, told CTV News the damage was evident when he showed up for work. "The suspended ceiling had crashed to the floor and there is another ceiling above it that was bent down like a 'V' with several pipes that were bent significantly," Evans said. "I feared they would burst."
