
The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Monday continued to slide, down by 0.61 percent.
The DAX index continues to go down and the correction at the exchange is not over, analysts said. The DAX index lost 55.94 points and closed at 9154.14 points, the lowest level since mid-March.
Heidelberg Cement AG increased by 1.39 percent, the biggest gain of all the 30 DAX shares. BMW AG St ranked the second on the risers list, up by 0.89. Commerzbank AG, Daimler AG and Continental AG went up by 0.66 percent, 0.53 percent and 0.44 percent respectively.
The chemical producer LANXESS AG suffered the greatest loss of 2.28 percent. The semiconductor company Infineon Technologies AG, Deutsche Telekom AG, BASF SE and ThyssenKrupp AG were also hit and dropped by 1.93 percent, 1.74 percent, 1.71 percent and 1.48 percent.
The turnover was 3.17 billion euros (around 4.26 billion U.S. dollars). BASF SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 255.06 million euros. (1 euro = 1.34 U.S. dollars)
