
Qatar Exchange index continued in the green zone for the second consecutive day, adding 167.72 points (+1.34%) to close trading at 12,717 points here Wednesday.
The trading value reached QR 640,994,565.93 with a volume of 17,788,396 shares from 7,154 transactions today.
From the 43 listed companies, 26 made gains today, 15 declined and two remained unchanged.
Qatari individual investors bought a volume of 10,257,579 shares of 42 companies amounting to QR 325,053,549.49 (50.71%).
Qatari institutional investors bought a volume of 2,693,268 shares of 33 companies amounting to QR 113,415,164.26 (17.69%).
Qatari individual investors sold a volume of 9,875,474 shares of 42 companies amounting to QR 344,224,932.92 (53.7%).
Qatari institutional investors sold a volume of 2,525,048 shares of 28 companies amounting to QR 86,516,815.14 (13.5%).
Seven banking and financial services companies concluded the day with gains.
The sector's value reached QR 241,505,099.27 with a traded volume of 4,491,458 shares from 2,399 transactions.
Masraf Al Rayan Bank's share was busy today, with a volume of 1,694,245 shares from 842 transactions. It closed at QR 52.80 up QR 0.80 (+1.54%) from Tuesday afternoon's QR 52.
QNB was marginally down by -0.11% to QR 174.8 from the previous QR 175.
From consumer goods and services sector, Salam International continued its gallop today, up +5.35% to QR 19.30. It traded a volume of 2,959,779 shares from 552 transactions.
Qatar Fuel (-0.38%, QR 212), Qatar Cinema and Film Distribution Company (-4.94%, QR 50) and Medicare (-0.92, QR 86.10) made losses today.
Real estate shares were also on the upswing with all companies ending in the green zone. The sector ended the day at QR 144,356,767.42 with a traded volume of 6,059,408 shares from 1,753 transactions.
Barwa Real Estate Company was up +2.15% to QR 40.35, Mazaya was up +2.17% to QR 18.80, Ezdan was up +0.85% to QR 23.69 and United Development Company was up 0.97% to QR 25.10.
