
Qatar Exchange index dropped 236.74 points (-1.79) Thursday to go below the threshold of 13,000 points and finished the day's trading at 12,952.82 points.
The trading value reached QR 812.819 Million with a volume of 18,150,781 shares from 9,562 transactions.
The market capitalisation of QR 693.066 Billion today is a decrease by 1.64% compared to QR 704.630 Billion at close of trading Wednesday.
All sectorial indices ended in the red zone except insurance sector which closed at 3,764.01 points up 17.22 points (+0.46%).
This reflected in the performance of major companies today, with 29 declining, ten advancing and four remaining unchanged from the 43 listed.
Qatar Electricity Water Company (QEWC) led gainers today with its share rising +1.37% to close at QR 185.50 from Wednesday's QR 183.
From the banking sector, Qatar National Bank (QNB) and al Khalij Commercial Bank were the only marginal gainers.
QNB went up +0.71% to QR 183.30 and al Khalij rose 0.13% to QR 22.50.
Masraf Al Rayan dropped -4.63%, losing QR 2.60 to close at QR 53.60. Its scrip saw a fair movement with a volume of 1,823,197 shares traded from 990 transactions.
From real estate sector, United Development Company was the only one in the green zone today, up just 0.05 dirhams (+0.18%) to close at QR 27.95.
Barwa slipped dramatically by -9.91%, losing QR 4.45 to close at QR 40.45 today.
Ezdan Holding continued its downward movement today, dropping -7.41% to lose QR 1.60 and close at QR 20 from Wednesday's QR 21.60 when it lost QR 1.70.
Qatari individual investors today bought a volume of 9,822,412 of 43 companies worth QR 387.453 Million (47.67%) and sellers off loaded a volume of 9,796,142 shares of 42 companies worth QR 412.192 Million (50.71%).
Qatari institutional investors today bought a volume of 3,066,083 shares of 40 companies worth QR 154.855 Million (19.05%) and sellers off loaded a volume of 2,747,238 shares of 31 companies worth QR 120.948 Million (14.88%).
