
Tokyo stocks continued to rise Wednesday on investor optimism over the course of the global economy.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 43.77 points, or 0.29%, from Tuesday at 15,369.97, according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 4.7 points, or 0.37%, higher at 1,280.78.
Major gainers included rubber products, marine transport as well as oil and coal products shares.
