Russia Confirms Commitment to Support Syrian Negotiations

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with UN Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura on Tuesday in Moscow on the efforts to restart Syrian peace talks.
Lavrov stressed during the meeting Russia and the United States' commitment to support the negotiation process on the settlement of the Syrian crisis and the UN efforts in this regard.
Lavrov expressed hope that UN Envoy Staffan de Mistura's visit to Moscow to become an important stage in preparing for new negotiations in Geneva.
For his part, Staffan de Mistura stressed the need to continue the development of the political process to achieve further progress.
